Get help with your energy bills

Mark - Energy Saving LightbulbsThe UK Government has recently announced a £1bn package of energy saving measures.

Following the announcement of the package, everyone in Edinburgh and Leith will be eligible for at least 50 per cent off loft and cavity wall insulation, with everyone on low incomes and all pensioners able to get these for free, and cold weather payments for the most vulnerable will be increased from £8.50 to £25 a week. You can find out about the help available by calling the “Save Money, Save Energy, Act on CO2” helpline on: 0800 512 012.

Advice on heating your home affordably and a comprehensive list of some of the help available (including winter fuel payments and social tariffs) can be found on Mark's site here. Mark's also produced a 'Staying Warm’ information leaflet which you can get a copy from the constituency office on 557-0577.
